Kat: I am currently studying to prepare for my third career. After spending most of my adult life living in several different countries overseas, I find it fascinating to be back in the States observing and participating in US politics, especially in today's political climate. The political ideology quiz found me to be a Solid Liberal, I scored a 60 on the Civic Literacy quiz and an 80 on the Current Events quiz (so it seems as though I have a bit of learning to do!). I absolutely practice my right and responsibility to vote, and have both volunteered and worked for Planned Parenthood in both a clinical and political outreach capacity in order to support the availability of reproductive health care to women and men in the USA and abroad. While I need to take this class to fulfill a requirement for a Bachelors in Nursing program, it feels very fortuitous to be learning about US government at this moment in history. I hope that the knowledge I gain here will help me be a better and more effective citizen.
